This is our newest Flagship Tri. it is designed to house all flight components inside the body. the control board is recessed for its protection.
It has a slightly larger arm span due to the larger plates. as with all our frames it is designed to take abuse.
Comes with landing gear and battery strap.
Frame comes as shown with arms, rear boom, rear block, fiberglass pivot, retainer Colet, Screws and blind nuts. Tricopter comes fully assembled for US customers. International orders the arms are removed for shipping.
This frame wil support up to 12" props
Frame weight is 5.6oz 158grams (Turnigy Talon weighs 350grams or 12.3oz. weight kills performance and flight time.
Arms are 12” in length
you will need to copy and paste some of the links. sorry
ESC’s (electric speed controller)
Magic esc from me or buddyrc
Control board KK2.1
10x5 use with 1400kv on 3 cell only or 980kv on 3 or 4 cell ( these are more efficient but not as snappy for aerobatics. They are very good in the wind)
High end (at least for me) sorry these are hard to get. I have made these very popular.
Sunnysky 2212 1400kv use 8x4.5 prop on 3 or 4 cell or 10x5 on 3 cell.
USA dealer when he has them http://www.buddyrc.com/sunnysky-x2212-9-1400kv-ii.html
Sunnysky 2212 980kv use 10x5 with 4 cell pack. These give 10 to 15% more flight time with slightly reduced power. They have enough power to fly on 3 cell but if loaded with fpv gear then use 4 cell.
servo if you need
As far as batteries go i like the hobbyking compact zippy.
And the Glacier batteries from Buddyrc
Buddyrc also caries the Icharger line of Chargers. I have had very good luck (meaning none of my batteries have caught fire like they did with 2 different hobbyking chargers)

As a newbie in the Tricopter world I have bought everything on your site. Followed your instructions and build it easily! And the most importent thing: it flies very well! Thank You Matt!
One suggestion: give a link on your site to the KK2 instruction manual for more details about program settings. Thats also voor the newbies important stuff :-)
Great products and site!

I am a CC3D guy, this is a great frame, it reminds me of flying helis, the yaw authority is almost the same, and so much more fun then a quad. I will be building your vtail next which I bought at the same time of the tri 3.0. I still have some tuning to do but once I had the yaw responding correctly the rest was history. This is absolutely the best flight multirotor I have flown to date and that's with a great deal of tuning left to do. Thanks Matt for a great platform and I look forward to your future offerings.

These frames are very well made, and a great design. I also have the V-tail quad simplecopter, and it flies great. Lots of fun with both. The break away zip tie design has saved my electronics many times. Very fast shipping, and great customer service from Matt. I plane on buying more from him in the future. Thanks.

Flight is good and stable with the KK2 just wish you came with extra screws all in all very good Tricopter.
tail plate needs to be made of something different so you can put a bearing on each then it would be great

Already have the T-Copter, the V-Tail and two or three of the simple copters which I really like.
Bought this one to try the Eagle Tree Vector since it works on tricopers!!!
Have notes from Matt's video to use when I do a "factory reset" on trhe KK2 board and use his recommended settings!

I build everything from scratch, but the information in Matts videos was invaluable. So much, that I bought the TriCopter frame and couldn't be happier. I've since purchase the V-Tail frame for my father and sent it and all components to him with a note telling him to watch the SimpleCopter videos. I have No Doubt he'll be successful building and flying one of these with everything that SimpleCopter provides. Thanks Matt!

Can't really say enough about the Tricopter on offer here. Matt is a great guy who's incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the copters he sells and fly's.
The frame and parts I bought from Matt were first rate, and when I got stuck during the build he helped out, and offered advice in person.
I'm teaching my son to fly so this is a great platform, and has survived a couple of impacts with trees then the ground with no damage. Just a couple of broken props.
This copter fly's great, it's fast and nimble, and will easily work from beginner up to advanced stunt flyer.

Really well designed and manufactured , Flies anything from mellow to wild and capable of hauling a decent payload, Super easy to build.
Its a real pleasure to do business with someone who is passionate about the sport , provides superb customer service and detailed instructional videos and is also involved in online forums.
From time of order to built and in the air in under a week!

Received the tri frame in the mail, and after unboxing, I was really impressed with the lightness and the build quality. Matt is doing excellent work with these. I have stained the wood after a bit of light sanding and am waiting on a KK 2.1.5 board and some servo leads to arrive. Once they do, it'll be time to fly!
