Product Description

See build video and Flight video below.

This is our newest Flagship Tri. it is designed to house all flight components inside the body. the control board is recessed for its protection.

It has a slightly larger arm span due to the larger plates. as with all our frames it is designed to take abuse.

As for building help see the building the simple T copter video below. it is very similar to this new tri.

Frame comes as shown with arms, rear boom, rear block, fiberglass pivot, retainer Colet, Screws and blind nuts. Tricopter comes fully assembled for US customers. International orders the arms are removed for shipping.

This frame wil support up to 10" props

Frame weight is 5.6oz 158grams (Turnigy Talon weighs 350grams or 12.3oz. weight killss performance and flight time.

Arms are 12” in length

Suggested motors

RCtimer 28-30 1300kv (lower quality)

HP2812-1300kv from rctimer (medium quality)

Sunnysky 2212 1400kv (best quality)

The high KV (1300-1400) of the motors and small props (8x4) rotate at tremendous speeds. Any vibrations generated will have a very high frequency which the GoPro  won't detect. With the Frame being made of wood and ply wood, more vibrations are dampened, resulting in a jitter and rolling shutter free video. One shortcoming is the relatively short flight duration of around 7 minutes fully loaded with a 2200mah 4S LiPo.

Suggested ESC’s

Super simple 18-20 (3 cell only) good for starting out

Plush 30 (3 or 4 cell) very good

Flashed F30A (3 or 4 cell) best

Control board

Hobbyking KK2 board

  1. Great frame, and great service

Posted by Neil Hutchison on 5th Jan 2015

Can't really say enough about the Tricopter on offer here. Matt is a great guy who's incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the copters he sells and fly's.
The frame and parts I bought from Matt were first rate, and when I got stuck during the build he helped out, and offered advice in person.
I'm teaching my son to fly so this is a great platform, and has survived a couple of impacts with trees then the ground with no damage. Just a couple of broken props.
This copter fly's great, it's fast and nimble, and will easily work from beginner up to advanced stunt flyer.

  2. Very nice tri

Posted by Unknown on 8th Dec 2014

Really well designed and manufactured , Flies anything from mellow to wild and capable of hauling a decent payload, Super easy to build.
Its a real pleasure to do business with someone who is passionate about the sport , provides superb customer service and detailed instructional videos and is also involved in online forums.
From time of order to built and in the air in under a week!

  3. Excellent build quality, excellent price.

Posted by Riley on 1st Dec 2014

Received the tri frame in the mail, and after unboxing, I was really impressed with the lightness and the build quality. Matt is doing excellent work with these. I have stained the wood after a bit of light sanding and am waiting on a KK 2.1.5 board and some servo leads to arrive. Once they do, it'll be time to fly!

This tri copter is very well built. and came packaged up real good. I haven't put it together due to waiting for the rest of my parts from other companies.

  6. Best Tri hands down

Posted by David Martin on 24th Oct 2014

This is the best design 2 thumbs up for the designer. Never flown a copter or multi rotor just airplanes.......First time out no crashes 5 week later loops, rolls, flip ect.....having a ball.....and when I do smack the ground just a few zip ties and a blade or 2 and you are back in the air having a ball.

Great quality and the service is 5 stars for sure.

  7. Great durable Tricopter

Posted by Anthony Ramirez on 29th Aug 2014

I have had it for 2 weeks and I LOVE this! I have flown airplanes for years but this is my first copter. The video was a great help and I am VERY happy with it. The first week I crashed it 6 or 7 times cause I had the radio set to helicopter and couldn't get Self-Level to work. Now that I got it all working right it flies beautifully. In all those crashes I only broke a boom, so I epoxied it, and 2 propellers. VERY durable copter. Next I plan to add a camera and FPV.

  8. yaw rear block

Posted by Larry Whitworth on 20th Jun 2014

no holes for servo yaw control

Simplecopter response. sorry usually very careful but this slipped by me. i did offer to resend new block. Matt

  9. flys will

    This tricoper flys great
The build video was a big help

  10. Great Design. Awesome product.

Posted by John on 15th Jun 2014

I bought this to replace a slightly less expensive tricopter that was destroyed in its first crash. That one flew so poorly I just thought tricopters were no good. Then I saw the video of the 2.0 Tricopter and I had to have one. Now that I do, I love it! It flies great!! I was flipping it on my second battery :-). I had a minor crash, and the front boom folded back as designed - no damage. Most designs don't emphasize crash-ability, but I love that this one does. I love his thing!
