This is our newest Flagship Tri. it is designed to house all flight components inside the body. the control board is recessed for its protection.
It has a slightly larger arm span due to the larger plates. as with all our frames it is designed to take abuse.
As for building help see the building the simple T copter video below. it is very similar to this new tri.
Frame comes as shown with arms, rear boom, rear block, fiberglass pivot, retainer Colet, Screws and blind nuts. Tricopter comes fully assembled for US customers. International orders the arms are removed for shipping.
This frame wil support up to 10" props
Frame weight is 5.6oz 158grams (Turnigy Talon weighs 350grams or 12.3oz. weight killss performance and flight time.
Arms are 12” in length
RCtimer 28-30 1300kv (lower quality)
HP2812-1300kv from rctimer (medium quality)
Sunnysky 2212 1400kv (best quality)
The high KV (1300-1400) of the motors and small props (8x4) rotate at tremendous speeds. Any vibrations generated will have a very high frequency which the GoPro won't detect. With the Frame being made of wood and ply wood, more vibrations are dampened, resulting in a jitter and rolling shutter free video. One shortcoming is the relatively short flight duration of around 7 minutes fully loaded with a 2200mah 4S LiPo.
Super simple 18-20 (3 cell only) good for starting out
Plush 30 (3 or 4 cell) very good
Flashed F30A (3 or 4 cell) best
Hobbyking KK2 board

Watched every video about simplecopter I could find before I bought one. I am very pleased with my purchase. Simplecopter went together very easily. All parts fit together great. Once I get better at flyin the Tri, I will get the v-tail also. No regrets at all. Love the copter, and Matts videos are great.

Ordered a Tricopter 2.0 , it was delivered to me in the UK within 6 days. Very happy with the frame , its well made , comes ready for electronics and is perfectly sized for acrobatics. Started building tonight and really enjoying it so far, plenty of room to place all electronics inside the frame for a sleek neat look. Cant wait to fly the hell out of this thing!!! I'll be ordering again!!

The Tricopter 2.0 is an outstanding frame. It’s light, well balanced and durable. Fun to build, but even more fun to fly.
Using a KK2.0 v1.6 flight controller and SimonK F-30A speed controllers, this tricopter has ultra responsive yet silky smooth handling characteristics, even with the cheap HK Turnigy 2826/10 1400kv motors that I fitted. Suitable for beginner or advanced pilots alike. It’s solid as a rock and forgiving in self-level mode, but capable of unbelievable dragonfly like agility in acro. The simple tail block and servo assembly gives it an amazing yaw with robotic precision and zero drift. Orientation is also much better than a standard quad. A 5 star product.
Don’t forget to buy the landing skid and the servo to rear block connector to complete the setup. Thank you to Matt Hall and everyone at Simplecopter.com.

Awesome tricopter, love it. Now put a APM 2.5 and my FPV gear on it and she doesn't notice the extra weight. I'm using RC Timer 2812-1300Kv motors, 10 x 4.5SF HK Props, all powered by 3300mAh 4S lipos.

This tri is AWESOME!! I now have about 10+ flights on it and it's a blast to fly!! The build is made very easy with the youtube video from Mr. Hall and takes all the guesswork out of the picture,he even will show you the kk2 board setup to get this beast flying. I have 3 hard crashes so far and the frame is rock solid...arms will fold back during a crash and you might break a prop.(My worst crash so far cost me $5 for two props.)Also I like that he gives you a good, better, best parts list that will conform to a build budget. (if there is such a thing) :) I would HIGHLY recomend this tricopter to anyone looking for multi-rotor fun.
V-tail is next on my list :)

Matt you are the best.
The 2.0 plates arrived today and the first thing that comes to mind is OUT-Freakin-STANDING!!!!
They are perfect for a larger Y6 with slightly heavier arms.
I am thinking 5/8"x3/4"x14" and I'll attach both motors at all 3 ends just like the Y3.
3/4" wide will give extra strength and a better surface to attach the ESC..
Can't wait to get started on it.
And I still say that watching your flying is a real PITA for me.
Be good and have a Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate.
